The Basics
The goals of the Law Firm Challenge are to increase alumni participation at Loyola Law School and to re-engage law school graduates in the life of their alma mater.
The Law Firm Challenge is a fundraiser that generates support for Loyola Law School by focusing on participation rate and not a monetary goal–thus if a donation of $25 or $25,000 is made it represents one gift towards the firm's 100% participation rate. Participation is what really counts! Every gift, regardless of amount, does make a difference. Progress reports on alumni participation will be provided monthly–donation amounts will not be disclosed.
The 2008-09 Law Firm Challenge cycle includes donations received from June 1, 2008 through May 31, 2009. All gifts received during the cycle will be credited to your firm’s participation rate, which means some of your colleagues may have already played a role in reaching 100% participation rate.
The Law Firm Challenge emphasizes personal contributions from alumni at participating firms, organizations or corporations with three or more alumni. Alumni may make a gift by personal check or credit card. Gifts on firm checks cannot be credited toward the firm’s participation rate. Gifts to the Law School’s Juris Fund are especially appreciated, however gifts can be directed to support any other fund at the Law School, like scholarships, academic programs, centers and more.
The Juris Fund provides the flexibility to meet the day-to-day needs of running the Law School as well as providing financial resources to student organizations, faculty recruitment, clinics, journals, counseling and other programs that directly affect students.
Firms participating in the Law Firm Challenge will be recognized on the Law School’s Web site, in the alumni newsletter and honor roll of donors. Firms compete in 3 groups, based on the number of alumni employees. Group I (21 or more alumni), Group II (11-20 alumni); Group III (3-10 alumni). In addition, firms that reach 100% participation rate will have their name engraved on a Law Firm Challenge plaque prominently displayed at the Law School.
